PLOS ONE: Impact of Rheumatoid Arthritis Disease Activity Test on Clinical Practice

As a follow-up to the baseline paper, “Variations and practice in the care of patients with rheumatoid arthritis: quality and cost of care”, this study details the pre/post comparison of care decisions made with and without the rheumatoid arthritis test. The results show the positive impact that the diagnostic test had on the quality of care delivered to the simulated RA patients. This was the clinical utility study in the dossier that led to positive coverage and reimbursement from Palmetto.
